How it works
Type a topic and pick a mood
One short phrase works best, like “my first car” or “leaving my hometown”. Then pick hype, gritty or reflective.
Edit until it sounds like you
You get two 8-bar verses and a 4-bar hook. Change any word or line. If one part misses, regenerate only that part and keep the rest.
Turn it into a song
Press “Turn into a song” and pick a style and a beat. You get two versions of the song, usually in 45 to 60 seconds.
What you get
Each run gives you the parts of a full rap song, in the order you'd perform them.
- Two 8-bar verses. A bar is one line of a rap. Sixteen lines of verse is enough to tell a short story.
- A 4-bar hook. The hook is the chorus, the part that repeats between verses. It's built around your topic, so it's easy to remember.
- Clean lyrics. No swearing, slurs or violence, so you can share them anywhere.
- Full control. Nothing is locked. Rewrite any line, regenerate one part, or copy everything with one click.
- A way to hear it. The same words become a song with a beat and vocals, in two versions.
Examples
Short excerpts to show the style. What you get will be different every time.
Badge on my shirt and my hands kinda shaking New faces, new names, every seat feels taken Mama said walk in like you already belong So I'm humming this beat in my head all along Lunch break alone, scrolling through my phone Texting my brother like, "I'm grown, I'm grown" By five o'clock I'm a little less new First day down, now I know what to do
Two lights, one store and a gas station sign That's my hometown and it's still on my mind Everybody knew your business by the end of the day Everybody said you'd never make it out anyway I kept a notebook where the big dreams hid Wrote down every single thing I swore I'd do, then did Now I go back and the corner looks small But that little town taught me how to stand tall
Lace 'em up tight, it's that game day feeling Crowd so loud you can hear it through the ceiling Coach said breathe, but I'm already gone Head in the zone with my headphones on First play, boom, now the bleachers jumping Scoreboard lit and my heart keep pumping Whole town watching and we came to collect Game day, baby, show a little respect
Tips for writing better rap song lyrics
- Pick a topic you can picture. “Love” gets you general lines. “Texting my ex at 2 a.m.” gets you a scene, and scenes make better lyrics.
- Keep the hook short. People should be able to sing it back after one listen. Four lines is plenty, and repeating one phrase is fine.
- Read every line out loud. If you run out of breath, cut a word. Lines that rhyme with each other should be about the same length.
- Swap one general line for a real detail. A street name, your first car, the song your mom played on Sundays. One true detail does more than three clever lines.
- Fix one part at a time. If the hook works but verse two doesn't, regenerate verse two only, so you don't lose what's already good.
- Finish editing before you make the song. The song uses exactly what's in the text boxes, so read it top to bottom once more before you press the button.
FAQ
Is the rap song lyrics generator free?
Yes. Writing lyrics is free and unlimited, and you don't need an account. Turning lyrics into a song costs credits, and your first song is free once you sign up.
Can I edit the lyrics?
Yes, every line. Many rap lyrics generators give you text you can only copy. Here each part of the song has its own text box, and if one part doesn't work, you can regenerate just that part.
How long are the lyrics?
Two 8-bar verses and a 4-bar hook. A bar is one line, so that's 20 lines in all. You can add or cut lines before you make the song.
How do I turn my lyrics into a song?
Press "Turn into a song", pick a style and a beat, and the song is made from the exact words in your text boxes. It usually takes 45 to 60 seconds. At busy times it can take a little longer, and the song appears on its own, so there's no need to refresh.
Why do I get two versions of the song?
The same lyrics can come out with a different feel each time. You get two, so you can keep the one you like better.
Do I need to sign up?
Not to write lyrics. To make a song you need a free account, which keeps your songs and credits in one place.
